Building Foot by Foot

A house is built of bricks and cement…..
A home is made of love and care ……..

Good Life Centre has commenced construction of a new 150-bed rehabilitation home in Mannivakkam village, near Oragadam Industrial Area, 6 km from Tambaram. The new home will be on 0.25 acres of land in a beautiful rural setting. This project will have a separate medical, educational, vocational training, and computer training, facilities.and is expected to house 100 mentally & physically challenged and 50 aged mothers all of whom if unsupported would be abandoned or simply left to die.

Even a thousand miles start with a single step…! Our home is just in the crawling stage. Please help us to walk with pride and dignity.Everyone of you is God in disguise.God does not look how much we do it, but with how much love we do it.

Currently here are 45 mentally challenged and 27 aged mothers living in a leased building with limited bed space and meager living quarters, consisting of only two cramped rooms where all are forced to sleep on floor.

More over the leased building is being compelled to be vacated from their current property in the next six months, leaving them homeless and once again destitute. There is an urgent need for a new home, not only for the existing children and aged mothers but also for many more helpless, homeless individuals.

Rs. 1500 BUILDS ONE SQUARE FOOT OF THE DREAM HOME

We are excited to move forward with the next two buildings - the HOUSE OF AGED MOTHERS and the HOUSE OF MENTALLY CHALLENGED. We have named this fundraising effort "Building Foot by Foot", and look forward to seeing it take shape. The both house floor plans have been printed with each square foot detailed on a grid. The project has been evaluated by two external agencies –department of social welfare and Commissioner of Differently-abled, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
